There are two things I absolutely adore: romance novels and, in particular, the works of Kyra Seth. When it comes to delivering engaging, fast-paced narratives, Kyra reigns supreme. Her books have a magnetic pull that makes it impossible to put them down, often leading me to devour them in one sitting.

This particular book dives deep into significant themes like eating disorders, fat shaming, inheritance issues, emotional baggage, and therapy, offering a vivid portrayal of the weight these issues carry.

The characters are complex and compelling, with a refreshing twist: the female protagonist, Isha, is neither juvenile nor weak. Instead, she possesses a strength that often eclipses the men around her, providing a fresh and empowering perspective. Isha’s boldness complements Veer’s character perfectly, showcasing a relationship where both partners walk hand-in-hand, respecting and supporting each other equally.

Kyra’s narration is witty, with humor that hits just the right notes, effortlessly tickling your funny bone. The supporting characters are seamlessly woven into the story, offering well-rounded perspectives that enhance the main narrative. Kyra’s refusal to sugarcoat reality is commendable; she writes with an authenticity that resonates, particularly in the way she portrays the grandmother’s toxic relationship with her grandkids and Isha’s reaction to it, which feels strikingly real and relatable.

The chemistry between Isha and Veer is electric, with an emotional depth that makes their connection truly special. Their unwavering support for one another is heartwarming and inspiring. The only minor drawback is that the book ends too soon—it’s so captivating that you’ll find yourself wishing for more pages to savor the story a little longer!
