Having read Six of Cups by the same author, I was already a fan of her writing. But Her Story made me fall in love with her words even more—solidifying Neha Bansal as one of my favorite poets.

This collection features a diverse range of female figures, from mythology to modern-day warriors. Through the voices of Draupadi, Ahalya, Surpanakha, Hidimbi, and many others, she challenges the male-dominated narrative and gives these women the recognition they deserve.

Bansal’s poetry is layered, thought-provoking, and powerfully crafted. She fearlessly questions patriarchy, gender stereotypes, and societal norms while highlighting harsh realities such as acid attacks, rape culture, and male entitlement.
