Her Story by Neha Bansal – A Powerful Voice for Every Woman

A woman is a miracle.
A woman is a blessing.
A woman is a gift.
But is she treated as one?

Is there a single woman who has never felt uncomfortable, never been subjected to the male gaze, or never faced injustice?

Neha Bansal’s Her Story is a deeply moving poetry collection that sheds light on the struggles, strength, and resilience of women. It narrates the untold stories of countless women who have been victims of oppression, abuse, and societal injustice.

Having read Six of Cups by the same author, I was already a fan of her writing. But Her Story made me fall in love with her words even more—solidifying Neha Bansal as one of my favorite poets.

This collection features a diverse range of female figures, from mythology to modern-day warriors. Through the voices of Draupadi, Ahalya, Surpanakha, Hidimbi, and many others, she challenges the male-dominated narrative and gives these women the recognition they deserve.

Bansal’s poetry is layered, thought-provoking, and powerfully crafted. She fearlessly questions patriarchy, gender stereotypes, and societal norms while highlighting harsh realities such as acid attacks, rape culture, and male entitlement. Her words are raw, intense, and deeply impactful, forcing readers to confront the painful truths of a woman’s life.

From prejudices to restrictions, shattered dreams to relentless expectations, beauty standards to body shaming, women have constantly been subjected to unfair treatment. This book serves as a call to action—for women to stay strong and uplift each other, and for men to truly understand the reality of a woman’s life.

P.S. To all the men who genuinely strive to make women feel safe and respected—thank you for restoring our faith in humanity.
